Where Screenplays Meet Technology

Hollywood Thinking Green

One half-hour
comedy TV show
utilizes an estimated 275,000 script pages each season.

Over 800,000 script pages are wasted on the average big-budget film.

Every year over 400,000 paperbound film/literary works are submitted to the US Copyright office.

Hollywood is becoming eco-friendly by beginning to reform studio moviemaking practices - producing carbon-neutral movies such as Syriana, the planting of trees near film shooting sites (Evan Almighty), and company-wide programs to improve the environment (NBC's "Get On Board" program).  However, script pages are still being churned out by the thousands every day, with recycling, double-sided script page printing, and vulnerable PDF documents as the only solution.

The key to drastically reducing paper consumption is providing the industry with a universal script management system; much in the way that email has drastically reduced paper mail for the public at large. LitCentral’s universal script management and development system is the solution Hollywood is looking for to further reduce its carbon footprint and move toward a paperless environment.  Think Green!
